I haven't been posting much recently and I won't be able to for the next week or so either.
This is because *drum roll* I am actually coming to the end of my time in Milan. Seriously coming to the end of my time in Milan. I have a week left. Oh my God.
I'm heading back to the sea, where this time there will be no dog waiting for me. Mum's going to look at a puppy today but it's a dog rather than a bitch and she and my sister would prefer another little girl. I just get ridiculously attached to any dog (yes even this hypothetical puppy I may never meet) so I'm hoping she falls in love with him too. We were discussing names last night... Billy popped up until we realised it was just because it rhymed with Milly. Rupert and Oscar were other favourites.
First of all, I have LOADS left to post about from my year. Meals out with friends, trips to Piemonte, Tuscany, Rome and Puglia, little trips around Milan...
And finally, where I live is actually quite pretty too. And I learn interesting shit in Psychology so I'll tell you about that too.
In short, life goes on after Milan. Kinda.
Where's home for you, Lucy? I hope you have the chance to have fun in Milan this week, and that the journey back goes smoothly for you!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Home is Margate on the East Kent coast. It has its ups and downs but it's my home so I love it! You should visit :) xxx
DeleteI really hope you have an amazing last few moments in Milan and I look forward to your posts once you are settled back. I truly enjoy reading your blog, in fact, it was the first blog I started reading and now I'm hooked! I live in the U.S. and it is such a breath of fresh air to read all about travels, food and experiences. I tell my husband all the time when he wants "Italian" food that what we are eating is nothing like what I see on here (and that is a good thing)!
ReplyDeleteOh thank you so much, what a lovely comment! Well I sure have lots of Italian food still to write about (including the benefits of eating cheese with honey and hazelnuts!) I hope you keep enjoying the site and thanks again for your lovely words xxx
DeleteHope the move back went ok, it's always tough leaving somewhere you love to go home but I am sure being able to see Italy with new eyes every few months will only increase your love for it.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jenny, I definitely have mixed feelings as I will be so sad to leave but I'm happy to be able to spend some time at home too. Not so happy about going back to uni but nevermind haha xxx
DeleteOhhh no. Leaving is always hard. I hope you thoroughly enjoy your last few days in Milan. After I left France I was upset but I have visited my friends so many times since and I love going back. It makes you appreciate a place even more. Welcome back to the UK!!! :)

DeleteWhen one adventure finishes, another one begins :) There are always stories to write and pictures to take, wherever you are in the world! Looking forward to seeing and hearing a little slice of your life in England - I've really enjoyed reading about Milan over the past few months. Hope the trip back goes smoothly! xx

DeleteI hope your transition back to England goes well! I think living by the sea in England is the best place to be (my best friend lives in Brighton and my family lives in Devon).
ReplyDeleteThank you! I love Brighton and I go to uni in Devon so am well acquainted with the sea in all respects :) didn't actually know you were from the UK!! xxx

DeleteI know you don't have much time left in Milan, so I hope that you are enjoying it and savoring every moment. I know it will be hard to leave, but you do have the comfort of knowing that you will be back. A place that you love--and loves you back--will always be with you, no matter where you are.
ReplyDeleteThank you Dawn, such lovely and kind words! I'm home now and am looking forward to a weekend of pampering with my family for mum's birthday :) xxx
