Ciao!
I'm Lucy, a food-obsessed PhD student living in London.
I love being outside and keeping active, moaning, looking at pictures of food and eating. I also like watching storms, cocooning myself on the sofa with chocolate and books, and coming up with various life plans, all of which will be completely different from the last.
I barely update this blog anymore but I'm hanging on just in case...
Hello there,
ReplyDeleteI just started reading your blog and I´m really enjoying it :)
I also feel the urge to visit Italy as soon as possible.

Hey, thanks for your comment :) I'm hoping to get a new camera soon and post more photo-oriented posts. Italy is beautiful, I would really recommend it, especially Emilia Romagna and Tuscany - the food and countryside is amazing! xxx
DeleteYour beautiful blog is making me miss Italy so much! My uncle spends most of his time working in Rome and I have grown to love it so much! I have never been to Milan, however. Next up on my Italy travels list!
ReplyDeleteSam
Oh wow that's so cool! It must be nice to have an excuse to go over to Rome when you want :) if you do make it to Milan, drop me a comment and I'll see what I can recommend depending on what you want to do :) xxx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blog! I dream of Italy all the time, but somehow fell in love with a Frenchman and am living next door in France. I look forward to visiting Italy often and am inspired by your passion and move at such a young age. I look forward to your posts.

Thank you so much! I love visiting your blog, it always makes me want to go to France, Paris in particular! If you ever need any guidance on what to do in Milan, I'd be happy to reciprocate :) xxx
DeleteHi, I just found your blog, and I'm really enjoying reading through it. We're currently living just outside Milan so I'm always on the lookout for good places to go! And thanks for writing in both languages too, It's really helpful for those of us who aren't exactly blessed in terms of language skills to be able to read in Italian and then check the English! I look forward to reading more!
ReplyDeleteHey, thank you so much :) I'm glad you liked having a browse. My Italian is probably full of errors though haha so don't try and learn anything from it! xxx
DeleteHi Lucy,
ReplyDeleteI just discovered your blog as I'm an avid reader living in Milan. Your review of The Rosie Project was terrific. I read it a while a go and I remember laughing out loud as I read which doesn't happen too often. Your final sentence summed it up perfectly.
Ciao
Jenny
Hey Jenny, thanks a lot! I'm glad you enjoyed the review :) I loved reading that book, I think it will probably be one of the few that I reread at some point! Hope you find some inspiration for things to do in the city on here :) xxx
DeleteHi Lucy ,I saw your profile on conversationexchange.com because I am looking for people, especially english native speakers, to make conversation, and I've read that u created a f.b. group for girls who speak Italian or English and want to learn other languages, but i couldn't find the link to get to. I hope u can help me with.
ReplyDelete........and You're blog is very interesting and it kind of insipred me and i'm trying to post something written by me in English. I added you to my G+ circles please check my page out!

A presto Ciaooo
Eleonora
Hey Eleonora, of course I'll check your page out! The group is called Language Exchange Girls in Milan, if you can't find it, let me know and I'll see what I can do :) xxx
DeleteAwesome, I should have read your about section first (lol). I'm also a psych student! Wahoo! Do I get an extra bonus for that considering your clear out on your following list? Just kidding ;) Do you have a specialisation in field of psych which you already prefer?
ReplyDeleteP.S.: Ahh, I have to add you on pinterest. This stuff is the dream of every addiction analyst! ;)
Haha yes you do! Don't worry, I'm not clearing you out :) and yes! If only I were doing the compulsive behaviour module next year, I could apply it all to Pinterest! Perhaps it's the intermittent reward of finding an awesome pin amongst all the chaff...
DeleteI'm very very interested in social psychology and health psychology and developmental psychology - I like applying knowledge to the real world as much as possible. I used to aspire to clinical psychology but it's a very competitive field and I'd also like to start focusing on problems lots and lots of people have that don't quite make it into the abnormal category. What about you? xxx :)
Hi Lucy! Fab blog - just seen your interview on Expats Blog :-) I'm in Italy too - been there for a year having lived a busy life in London! Sounds like you've had a similar experience of me with some of the cultural difference in Italy! They stare at me and my left-handed car how they must stare at you with your wet hair ;-) Anyway - you mentioned a sort of language exchange type website to meet Italians - would you be able to tell me which site you used? I've not had much success yet and simply mingling doesn't seem enough to make friends sadly! Keep up the good work :-) Sue x
ReplyDeleteHey Sue! I'm sorry to hear that but look no further - www.conversationexchange.com has been my absolute saviour! It's absolutely amazing, I have made all of my friends via that site and I am so grateful for it. As a girl, you will be inundated with requests from men haha but I just used it to search for people in the area around the same age as me who wanted to meet up :) we don't do formal language exchanges at all, we just hang out and go for pizza! Good luck in Italy, don't let the bureaucracy break your soul :p xxx

ReplyDeleteDear Lucy
My name is Joe Pinzone and I'm casting an international travel show about expats moving abroad. We'd love to film in Italy and wanted to know if you could help us find expats who have moved there within the last 15 months or have been there for 3-4 years, but recently moved into a new home. The show documents their move to a new country and will place the country in fabulous light. The expats on the show would also receive monetary compensation if they are filmed. They must also speak English fluently and can be buyers or renters for their homes. If you'd like more information, please give me a call at 212-231-7716 or skype me at joefromnyc. You can also email me at joepinzone@leopardusa.com. Looking forward to hearing from you.
